Hello, I'm Philipp, IT consultant for infrastructure, cloud engineering and software development from Flensburg, Germany.

About Me

Philipp Borucki

I'm from Flensburg, studied media informatics and currently studying applied computer science. I'm curious how things are built – and prefer figuring out how they work. Design matters to me, both the kind you see and the kind you don't.

I spend time with tabletop RPGs, mostly »Das schwarze Auge«, building things with microcontrollers, watching corvids and parrots solve problems, playing story-rich games and appreciating good sushi with friends. I value good engineering regardless of where it shows up. I think sleep or showers solve more problems than most people give them credit for.

Things I think about

  • Good design is good design, regardless of the domain
  • Most complex things are just simple things composed badly
  • The best way to understand something is trying to rebuild it yourself
  • Nothing is so urgent that you can't take time to think it through
  • Ravens solving problems and people debugging code follow surprisingly similar patterns
  • The best debugging tools are still a good night's sleep, a shower and a duck
